Publishing Specialist Jobs description
A publishing specialist is responsible for handling several functional as well as administrative tasks in a publishing department. Typically a publishing assistant is responsible for coordinating with printing department, editors, distributors, advertisers and others; preparing ad space rate reports; keeping track of advertisements or commercials in the periodicals being published; assisting publishing managers and publishing officers with their work; participating in preparation of technical documents; attending training sessions and meetings; guiding publishing representatives; preparing minutes of meetings and distributing to team members and performing other tasks assigned by the supervisor. A publishing specialist typically reports to a publishing manager.A publishing specialist should have a bachelor\'s degree in mass communications or journalism. Some experience working as a publishing specialist may be helpful. Some employers may refer to a publishing specialist position as a publications representative, publishing associate, or publishing executive position.
