Proofreader Jobs description
A proofreader job opening may be available with a publisher, newspaper, magazine, IT company, or any other company that publishes written work. A proofreader is typically responsible for editing or proofreading the work performed by others in a publishing house. Specific duties of a proofreader include analyzing the articles or write-ups for grammatical and conceptual errors, putting up missing or misplaced punctuation marks, making an article presentable and grammatically correct, getting the articles approved, forwarding the work to the printing or publishing department, keeping updated on the new terminologies being accepted in case of current topics and staying abreast with changes in the rules and regulations in English language. A proofreader typically reports to the chief editor.A proofreader should have an associate\'s degree or a bachelor\'s degree in journalism or mass communications. Excellent academic credentials are required. Excellent writing skills are a must.
