Citi's Municipal Securities Division (MSD) is the leading franchise in US public finance, community development, and municipal sales and trading. MSD is part of the Institutional Clients Group (ICG) of Citi.
The Public Finance Department (PFD) is the investment banking arm of MSD. It is responsible for assisting state and local governments and non-profit enterprises with structuring and issuing debt and optimizing their capital structures. Citi's Public Finance franchise is the market leader within the industry, particularly for the most complicated and highest profile transactions in the marketplace.
The Public Finance Department is looking for an Experienced Public Finance banking professional (Director level) to work in its Infrastructure Group (Infrastructure Group).
The Infrastructure Group works with state and local governments throughout the country to develop strategic solutions to meet our client's capital needs and budget and operating challenges. These solutions are most often debt based and result in our municipal clients issuing tax-exempt and/or taxable bonds. The Infrastructure Group finances a variety of project types including transportation, general governmental facilities, sports and public private partnership transactions, to name just a few. The Infrastructure Group is also responsible for working with municipal governments on strategic budget and operating initiatives, including for asset sales and securitization, pension and post-employment liabilities, distressed credits as well as debt optimizations structures and refinancing of outstanding debt. The Infrastructure Group works closely and seamlessly with our network of regional-based bankers to provide comprehensive banking coverage to our state and local issuer clients.
The Director-level banker will be responsible for developing transaction concepts and structures, implementing the transaction and the day-to-day management of the transaction to completion. This banker will be responsible for developing and engaging new business development opportunities as well as ongoing client maintenance and coverage. The banker's responsibilities will include the development of the transaction's financing structure, overseeing preparation of cash flows and presentations to the client, working with transaction counsel and financial advisor team, responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), running transaction meetings, preparing materials for and attending client meetings and working collaboratively with regional bankers as well as Citi's Municipal Syndicate Desk and capital markets professionals. This job requires strong quantitative skills, a deep understanding of debt capital markets and municipal debt structures and attention to detail.
* Seven (7) years of experience in either public finance, project finance or asset securitization.
* Minimum BA/BS required. MBA or other post graduate degree or certification is a positive
* Strong quantitative and transaction structuring skills.
* Strong written and oral communications skills.
* Track-record of developing, managing and executing complex transactions
* Able to work in a variety of roles depending on transaction need and exercise sound judgment in a highly-compliant and transparent banking environment.
* Results oriented and team player.
* Capability with Microsoft Office Products
* Series 52, Series 63 and 79 (registration may be obtained after being hired – additional registrations may be required).
