OverviewnnWe are currently seeking an Executive Editor to be responsible for a wide range of editorial and publishing tasks in the Dey St. imprint.nResponsibilitiesnn Acquires lead-level titles with critical and bestselling potential, and edits manuscripts for publication.n Shepherds manuscripts through production process and oversees all aspects of the publication process, including working with design to create marketable packages and with the marketing group to develop marketing plans.n Works directly with authors, agents, and all in-house departments.n Oversees fact sheet, jacket, and catalog copy; reviews marketing material.n Conducts and analyzes sales research, with a deep understanding of p&ls.n Presents titles at various sales meetings.n Negotiates contracts with agents.n Shares supervision of an editorial assistant.nnQualificationsnn Minimum 8 years (Exec Editor) or 5 years (Sr Editor) of relevant editorial experiencen Acquisition and publication of multiple profitable and/or critically viable projectsn Excellent negotiation skills and strong presentation skillsn Established relationships with relevant agents and industry colleaguesn Extensive experience reviewing contractsn Strong understanding and awareness of general marketplace and relevant market segments within industryn Ability to effectively communicate with all levels across the organizationn Strong organizational skills and attention to detailn Ability to work independently and set priorities under pressuren Excellent written and oral communication skillsn Proficient knowledge of MS Officenn**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is a company full of people who are passionate about books.  When you apply for a position, we want to know why you want to work here, and why you are interested in the job.  Thatu2019s why cover letters are strongly preferred. n n**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is an Equal Opportunity Employer
