The Manager, Curriculum Support Group, Inside Sales’s primary responsibility is to lead a team of Inside Sales Content Specialists who actively support Inside Sales Account Executives in achieving sales targets through virtual delivery of presentations.  The Manager is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing this team of Inside Sales Content Specialists.  The Manager position assumes management (majority of work) and delivery of virtual sales presentations (part time).  The Manager is also responsible for the virtual delivery of tailored pre-sales presentations to customers in collaboration with sales and Getting Started training during the Back to School season when appropriate.  The Manager also assists with the support of sales pilots.  Managers are responsible for learning 1) virtual sales presentations, 2) virtual Getting Started training sessions, and 3) subject matter expertise for a suite of HMH products and services.

*This position will ideally be located in Chicago, IL, but will consider qualified candidates in other locations.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Lead the team of Inside Sales Content Specialists who support virtual pre-sales presentations, pilot, and Getting Started trainings. 

Coach, mentor, and manage Associates, Digital Learning Specialists, and Content Specialists on an ongoing basis.

Train Inside Sales Content Specialists on how to customize the sales message with awareness of customer needs, campaign issues, and competitive knowledge.

Demonstrate extensive knowledge of virtual presentations and acts as mentor for internal colleagues on best practices for virtual delivery.

Collaborate with Inside Sales Director and VP to identify performance targets and strategic accounts, and manage the execution of annual plans to achieve targets.

Partner with the Inside Sales Directors to explore solution selling opportunities with customers and to recommend both programs and services.

Collaborate with Account Executives, Inside Sales Directors, and Service Managers to understand client needs and transfer this knowledge to team when providing pre-sales, sales, and post-sales presentations.

Outline and oversee personalized training plans for each Content Specialist, Digital Learning Specialist or Associate Content Specialist in an effort to deepen product knowledge throughout the team.

Demonstrate broad knowledge of all core and supplemental products, with deeper expertise in two or more subject areas (i.e. math and science).

Approve SFDC requests, PMP evaluations, and Monthly Reports as required. 

Secondary Job Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-sales virtual customer presentations tailored to customer and sales needs as needed.

Learn Getting Started trainings as requested.

Demonstrate product knowledge to position products in a way that reflects product strengths while aligning with market issues, curriculum trends, and customer needs.

Utilize knowledge of competitors’ products to enhance product positioning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

Bachelor's Degree is a minimum with graduate degree preferred.

Five years of K-12 teaching experience.

Outstanding virtual delivery/strong presentation skills with ability to develop same skills in others.

Digital literacy is a requirement.

Proficient with MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Must have experience using WebEx or a similar virtual meeting tool.

Preferred Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

Previous management experience preferred.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Collaboration skills.

Highly organized and able to transfer strategies into actions that deliver results.

Experience with Salesforce.com a plus.

Travel Required:

Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends, and travel extensively up to 50% – driving and flying. 

A valid driver's license and clear driving record.

Physical Requirements:

Lift and move up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
