What you'll be doing
Publisher representative work with and serve as innovators in the higher education market, keeping up with the latest technological offerings and helping instructors and students teach and learn more effectively by identifying critical business issues and providing complex solutions. A publisher representative is responsible for the entire sales cycle, from prospecting through post-sale support and training, and expected to develop and maintain an understanding of the territory, marketplace, competitive offerings, and other business issues relevant to the position. The successful candidate will be responsible for the sales and marketing of textbooks, digital content, course supplements, and new media to professor, academic institution administrators, and bookstores in a territory comprised of two and 4-year colleges and universities.
What your background should be
2-3 years of experience in outside sales. Documented success achieving and exceeding assigned sales goals. Ability to drive a two-way communication with their customers. Competitive, creative problem solvers. Technologically savvy, highly proficient in navigating and demonstrating complex online products. Outstanding presentation skills.
Required Schooling / Training
BA/BS or equivalent.
