The Guilford Press has an excellent opportunity available for a talented production editorial professional looking to advance his or her career in academic publishing. Working with the Managing Editor and our Editor in Chief, this professional will ensure the timely production of titles, print and electronic, while maintaining Guilford’s high editorial standards.
As the Editorial Supervisor, you will carry a wide range of responsibilities including troubleshooting technical issues for InDesign coding, and coordinating production for all ebook formats. You would supervise up to 7 staff members who handle typesetting online supplements, preparation of art work, permissions, copyrights, and product archives. In addition, you would be the Production Editor for a limited number of titles.
We need an editorial professional with experience that shows range and depth. As such, we are looking for a minimum of 5 years of book production editing with demonstrated increases in responsibility and supervisory/coordinating experience. You will need superior copy editing, proofreading, and trafficking skills, as well as experience in utilizing Excel and databases, and in solving ebook conversion challenges. We use the American Psychological Association style and InDesign, so your knowledge in these specifics will be useful.
