Profile

We are looking for a full-time contract/royalties assistant with 1-2 years experience in either a legal or accounting department. Primary responsibilities will be vetting and generating contracts, entering deal/contract terms into our database, processing monies as they are received, coordinating with our accounts manager and agents as needed. Additionally, they will provide general administrative/office support, sharing responsibilities with other office staff.

The ideal candidate is highly responsible, discreet, and super organized. They should have exceptional communication (phone, written, in person) skills, a good sense of humor, and be highly adaptive. They have some foundation in working with contracts or in payment processing within the world of publishing, but other qualifying backgrounds will be considered. They seek a highly collaborative, creative environment and a desire to expand their knowledge of the business.

Tech fluency (Filemaker Pro, MS Office) is important. Being a highly engaged reader of (especially non-fiction) is a big plus.

Given the sensitive nature of the work, you must be able to provide recent references and sign a confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment.
