The Director of Sales is accountable for achieving sales and profit objectives for the territory through hiring, training, developing and directing employees within the area.
***This position can be based anywhere in Southern California and works from a home office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and develop pipeline through team efforts for accuracy leading to strong projections and closing sales.
Develops a strategic/marketing plan for assigned territory based on upcoming adoption information for the school year, needs of the customer and past years regional performance to meet assigned quota.
Adjust plans as needed.
Maintain relationships with key stakeholders throughout the region to stay abreast of districts needs and adoption cycles.
Responsible for meeting assigned district or regional target and partners with Account Executives on creating effective sales strategies/action plans.
Manages the activities of the staff.
Conducts objective setting, midpoint and annual appraisal for sales representatives.
Observes staff in field by attending sales calls and presentations.
Responsible for attracting, developing, coaching, motivating, empowering and retaining sales professionals.
Conducts regular staff meetings and 1:1 sessions.
Manage and stay within district budgets.
Approves sales representative's expense reports.
Promotes a positive relationship and collaboration between staff, sales, and internal teams.
Frequently communicates and collaborates with Sales and Consultant Management and shares information learned with team.
Achieve area team goal by collaborating with other managers and teams including, but not limited to, K-12, Intervention, Services and Assessment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree.
7 years of education sales experience with a proven track record in meeting quota.
Proficient in MS Office and a CRM such as Salesforce.com.
Acceptable driving record required.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Master's degree desirable.
3 years of management experience preferred.
Teaching skills are desirable.
Travel:
Must be able to travel up to 60 - 70% of the time through a combination of domestic air travel and driving a car.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain seated for extended periods of time, 4 hours.
Must be able to present to audiences for 2 hours.
Frequently lifting, reaching, and moving product up to 60 lbs.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
