Senior Acquisitions Editor

The primary responsibilities of the editor are acquisition and ongoing management of business books (Business, Finance, Accounting). The editor must work in a team environment with excellence, leadership, creativity, and ability to work across a team of partners including production, marketing, publicity, sales, and finance.
The Senior Acquisitions Editors for Wiley’s Business publishing program will be responsible for actively acquiring and managing titles consistent with project budgets and on schedule. The ideal candidate will identify and acquire new thought leaders in business, collaborate with internal and external global customers, identify opportunities for new business development, and maintain and strengthen author relationships. We are looking for a candidate with proven experience acquiring authors or content, and a track record of achieving targets.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have:
· Five years of experience acquiring trade books (REQUIRED)
· In-depth knowledge of the market and industry
· Excellent project management skills
· The ability to work collaboratively
· Effective communication skills
· A strategic, results-oriented focus to drive the business forward
· Focus on maintaining a strong client/customer relationship
