The Assistant Managing Editor is responsible for overseeing the editorial office for a list of journals, most importantly in supervising the progression of journal submissions through the peer review process, from submission to final decision, using the online electronic editorial office system or alternative systems where these are in place, vendor management, and in undertaking other projects and duties as required Key Responsibilities: Supervising the peer review process from checking in submissions to exporting manuscripts to production, including communicating with editors, authors and reviewers Collaborating with vendors to ensure quality of workflow and process. Supplying statistics to the internal and external editorial team as and when required Assisting editors, reviewers and authors as and when required in using the online electronic editorial office system, to ensure that they are equipped to use it in the best possible way Following up enquiries from editor, reviewers and authors as and when necessary Qualifications Bachelor\u2019s degree in the sciences or equivalent Professional publishing experience or equivalent. Vendor management experience. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience of using ScholarOne Manuscripts for the journal peer review process.
