Seeking someone with great Microsoft Word/Office skills on a PC. Must be able to compose multi-column and long documents; generate bookmarks and table of content and handle conversions to PDF. You’ll work within an outstanding team responsible for the composition of insurance forms and insurance product documentation. It’s a fast-paced and friendly production environment with daily variety. This is not a creative position; documents are composed according to existing standards and layouts. 4 years work experience with Microsoft Word/Office creating complex documents. In-depth working knowledge of all phases of document processes, terminology and operations, knowledge of professional document layout and proofreading. Organizational skills and attention to detail.
JOB SUMMARY: Produces computer generated graphic-design desktop publishing services for communication materials. Imports graphic images and integrates with text. Processes a variety of work types using appropriate software. Distributes work via printing, mail and/or electronically transferring documents to customer. Responds to customer inquiries about status of work, questions and concerns.REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Supervisor/ManagerDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Designs and produces a variety of complex documents via desk top publishing software/hardware. Performs import/export functions to interface documents/materials using multiple types of equipment and software.2. Trouble-shoots problems and recommends resolution relative to the desktop publishing system. Analyzes changes including any recommendations for process improvement. Performance necessary audit functions regarding workflow issues as required. Identifies, researches and analyzes discrepancies on procedures documents, including but not limited to color density, size, layout, print quality,3. Ensures timely and accurate processing of documents while maintaining maximum on-line availability to system users.4. Protects the privacy of the customer by maintaining confidentiality.5. May train team members and/or customers on service deliverables and products.6. Interfaces with systems and vendors to resolve hardware and software related problems.7. Protects the privacy of the customer by maintaining confidentiality.8. Performs other duties as assigned.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technician/business school courses preferred.Experience: Four years successful work experience with various microcomputer hardware and software applications.Knowledge: In-depth working knowledge of all phases of desktop publishing processes, terminology and operations. Prefer familiarity with internal processes, products, insurance/financial services, terminology and customers. Requires working knowledge of presentation designs, formats, and graphic applications using dual hardware.Skills: Ability to operate various type of desktop publishing equipment and software (i.e., Microsoft products, Mac and IBM compatible personal computer) including personal computer and related software. Ability to create and train others on detailed desktop publishing instructions. Verbal and written communication skills for interaction with customers, vendors, and team members.
