We have an opening for a full-time Design and Publishing Administrative Assistant who will provide administrative support to the Design, Publishing, and New Media (DPNM) department. They will be the key contact person for the Chief Content Officer and will work with other museum departments to ensure coordinated communications around institutional activities. Duties will include: coordinating department logistical needs and all administrative tasks such as processing project invoices, maintaining record keeping, calendar management, meeting set-up, note-taking, filing, and mailing. They will also provide project management support including setup and tracking of meetings, schedules, specifications, and approvals.
Desired qualifications include a Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; publishing, museum studies, art history, editorial, design, administrative, and/or accounting background preferred; and:
Excellent administrative, accounting, written/verbal communication, and proofreading skills with acute attention to detail.
Experience in publishing or design.
Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, and other Office software.
Familiarity with the Macintosh computer platform and Adobe Creative Suite software (InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Experience with project management systems and tools.
This is a full time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, and as required for implementation of responsibilities and related museum activities. Ability to lift 30lbs, operate office equipment, and general mobility throughout all museum properties is required.
