About the position:The Da Capo Press marketing department consists of three people who are responsible for securing blog and website coverage for our titles, as well as supporting the efforts of our sales representatives. We market books from Da Capo Press, Lifelong Books, and Seal Press. Interns will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of non-fiction titles—we publish in the categories of music, history, literature, memoir, biography, sports, science, health, parenting, and cooking.Duties include, but are not limited to:Web-based researchAssisting in direct email campaignsSocial media executionBook mailingsAnd other projects as requiredInterns will also have an opportunity to sit in on at least one editorial and one marketing meeting to gain a deeper understanding of book publishing.Required Skills:Junior and Senior undergraduates or graduate students are welcome to apply. Candidates should have a genuine interest in book publishing and/or marketing. Some relevant coursework (Marketing, Writing, Publishing, Journalism, Communications) is required. We are looking for an intern who is detail-oriented, flexible, and able to manage several projects at once.
