Job Description:

Director – Americas Sales Planning and Analysis

The Director, Americas Sales Planning and Analysis is responsible for the volume and revenue planning, trade budget management, retail program analysis and regional retail/digital joint go to market planning for the Americas business (>$1 billion in sales).

This individual will be an invaluable business partner to the Americas Commercial team. This role requires both strong management skills and hands on abilities to ensure that that financial reporting is accurate, meaningful and timely and, also, that accounting/close transactions are done with precision.  Additionally, the individual in this role will be expected to provide objective, insightful business analysis on the Americas business and be able to frame key recommendations to senior business leaders in a clear and compelling narrative. Prior sales planning experience on a retail business, sales finance/retail promotional financial analysis experience, trade budget management experience, effective team management experience and an understanding of commercial sales dynamics (retail and digital) are highly desired. This role reports to the Senior Director – Americas Sales and Supply Chain and will have a team of direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities and Expected Results:    

Sales Planning (volume and revenue)

Provide overall sales planning leadership for the Americas retail business

Manage a team of business analysts to provide customer level forecasting and business analysis

Develop and maintain the retail forecast on all key business initiatives

Trade Budget Management

Provide finance leadership on the Americas trade budgeting process. Ensure creation of robust plans and ensure delivery of authorized budget to within targets.

Partner with Sales and Retail Marketing organizations to optimize trade spend investment decisions to maximize returns on investment.

Sales Finance Analysis/Promotional Analysis

Lead financial analysis of sales programs/promotional opportunities.

Proactively identify opportunities to drive topline growth across key customers and emerging market territories

Track customer and territory level business delivery against topline objectives

Partner with sales leaders to optimize sales plans and ensure delivery of customer level objectives

Regional Retail/Digital Business Tracking and Joint Planning

Provide finance leadership to coordinate go to market tactics and strategic across the Americas retail and digital businesses

Inventory Review/Management

Lead efforts to track inventory levels and manage closeout sales process 

Manage team of finance professionals

Qualifications:

Education:

BA/BS in Finance or Related Fields

MBA highly preferred; CPA is a plus

Experience and Skills:

A minimum of 7 - 10 years of experience, showing responsibility progression, in Financial Management and requiring strong technical and analytical skills

A track record of success working in a team-based environment.

Financial Planning & Analysis experience within the software/gaming industry, consumer packaged goods, retail, or entertainment preferred

Prior experience developing a sales forecast – unit and revenue – on a retail business

Prior experience developing and assessing the financial payout and viability of promotional sales programs

Prior experience conducting financial analysis and leveraging to influence key decision making

Demonstrated experience in translating and executing business strategies through tactical plans

Demonstrated ability to build strong, productive working relationships across teams

Seasoned executive presence; ability to successfully present complex material to senior leaders in a clear, compelling way

Prior experience managing and effectively developing finance professionals/team

Understanding of retail and digital sales drivers and dynamics

Oracle & Hyperion experience

Sound knowledge and understanding of GAAP. Understanding of financial statement (P&L, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows)

Strong leadership, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills

Strong PowerPoint skills; technical and strategic: ability to build executive narratives

Excellent problem solving skills

High attention to detail

Ability to work in extremely fast-paced environment
