As part of this team, your work will directly support Vandenberg Air Force Baseu2019s efforts to successfully launch rockets into space. Essential Functions: u2022 Responsible for creating end-user documents and videos in accordance with the companyu2019s strategies and standards. u2022 Steer publications from initiation to release. u2022 Identify and implement required Technical Manual (TM) development changes based on a technical data package consisting of an Engineering Change Proposal (ECP), engineering drawings, and Logistics Management Information (LMI), using Adobe Frame Maker, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Illustrator. u2022 Partner with Engineers, Product Support Analysts, Drafters, and internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create technical publications, operating manuals, user guides, quick reference material, application and technical notes, training materials, etc. u2022 Perform in-process reviews, and certifications and verifications of Technical Manuals with operators, peers, and customers. u2022 Coordinate and support Engineering in Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment. Participation in project meetings with direct contact with the Engineering and Government customer. u2022 Coordinate and handle multiple tasks and projects; and, provide guidance for the same to IPT members throughout the development lifecycle. u2022 Assist with the preparation of Rough Order of Magnitude or Basis of Estimates. u2022 Perform data and configuration management activities associated with implementation of Technical Manuals. u2022 Perform related duties as required, e.g., support to integrated logistics functions, and training/mentoring of other product support personnel. Required Skills Required Skills: u2022 Ability to effectively work in a team environment; and, perform work and resolve problems with limited supervision. u2022 Strong verbal and written communication skills; u2022 Strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail. u2022 Proficiency with Adobe Framemaker, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional, and Microsoft Office applications, or other Desktop Publishing Programs. u2022 Working knowledge of materials, components, assemblies, computer, and peripheral hardware designs u2013 parts. u2022 Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, e.g., Windchill or equivalent. u2022 Familiarity with S1000D authoring and publishing preferred. u2022 Some extended standing, and/or travel to local and remote sites. u2022 The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project requirements. u2022 Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization. u2022 Valid U.S. Driveru2019s License required. Required Experience Bacheloru2019s degree in Technical Communication or English; or, a combination of experience and education. u2022 Five or more yearsu2019 direct experience in a Sustaining or Development Engineering environment.
