THE OPPORTUNITY

To run trade production

Key responsibilities:

Manage Production Department of 1 Senior Manager, 8 Production Editors, in addition to freelance Copyeditors and Proofreaders as needed

Oversees approx. 600 titles per year, along with related digital, audio, school Market and custom editions of those titles

High level scheduling and follow up

Workload management

Creation and distribution of schedules for special individual projects

List review for assignments to PE’s

Typesetter volume management

Run weekly sales materials schedule meetings

Oversee PE running of various weekly production status meetings

Review of best practices and evaluation of processes to ensure efficient PE workload

Direct management of all Harry Potter production schedules and process

HOW YOU CAN FIT

Strong managerial and communication skills, with the ability to finesse multiple needs across departments and levels to meet deadlines

Excellent copyediting and proofreading skills

Strong knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation

Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style

Computer skills – MAC preferred

Additional experience needed:

3 or more years of Production Director/managing editorial experience from a Trade house and previous production editor experience

Children’s book experience a big plus
