Specific duties of an associate editor include utilizing the available resources and knolwedge in order to flawlessly edit articles, coordinating with other editors and people from other departments, studying or reviewing the articles to eliminate grammatical or conceptual errors, checking punctuation mark errors, editing the data received from various sources, assisting the editor, improving the readability of articles, and performing other tasks assigned by the editor. An associate editor typically reports to the editor.
An associate editor should have an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a relevant area. Strong hold over the English language and excellent writing skills are essential for an associate editor position.
